OBJECTIVE

Your unit has been deployed in the small town of Aachen, on the Belgian-German border. The recently installed mayor has been highlighted as a target by Nazi troops attempting to cause havok in the area. Protect the Mayor's residence at all costs, and remove the German military threat to the area.

HISTORICAL CONTEXT

On March 24, 1945, Hitler Youth "Werewolf" bands, armed with explosives and other weapons, successfully assassinated the Lord Mayor of Aachen. The mayor, recently installed by US forces, was the only US appointed official killed by the "Werewolves" during the war. (Source)

Aachen also has significance in that it was one of the first areas of the Rhineland occupied by German military forces in 1936.
